SOS Animales Salobreña was struck a blow when one of its volunteers, Gersom, died in a traffic accident this week.
For this reason, a co-founder of this animal-refuge association, Saskia van Diesen, is trying to raise funds for his widow, Gema and their five children.
A fund-raising, online platform, Go Fund Me has been chosen and an account is now operative for anybody who wishes to help out.
Gersom was a self-employed worker whose task it was to collect up strays from some Town Halls and his wife helped, full time, taking care of them.
“Now Gema has no form of income and has over 300 animals to care for so she needs the sort of support that she has always given to others,” explained Saskia.
So far the Go Fund Me account has a balance of 3,600 euros.
