Astronomy in The Castle

Salobreña will host a temporary astronomic observatory in the castle on the 5th of July at 21.30h.

Not only will people be able to view the stars but the astronomer in charge with give a lecture on the visible firmament in the night’s sky, including the mythology behind the names of the constellations.

There will be telescopes capable of exploring deep-space objects, capable of viewing M13 (sometimes known as the Hercules Globular Cluster) and The Ring Nebula (also catalogued M57 which is a planetary nebula in the northern constellation of Lyra) as well as binary stars.

This event is part of the Ciencia al Fresquito 365 belonging to the Junta in coordination with Salobreña Town Hall and is part of the summer activities.
