A Salobreña man in his late 70's went before a judge for allegedly making a false police statement and fraud
The said 79-year-old man falsely reported that somebody had used his bankcard on the 13th of May, The accused allegedly did so in order for the bank to refund the ‘stolen’ money.

The money had been spent on a car belonging to a vehicle-rental company to the tune of 1,134 euros.
However, the police investigation carried out by the Motril-based Guardia Civil showed that he had personally gone to the car-rental office and hired a car for a period of three days.
However, he failed to return it until 21 days later. For this reason the rental company charged the 1,134 euros, corresponding to the excess time, to his card.
