The Mayor of Almuñécar, Juanjo Ruiz Joya, and the Councillor for Public Works, Francisco Rodríguez, turned up for a photo session near El Peñón del Santo/San Cristóbal.

The area between the rock and the Río Seco river mouth is known as the Paseo de las Flores, which is where they are repaving the paseo.

But it’s not just the paving undergoing change because they are also installing a small cascade feature near the statue of Abderramán I to embellish the area.

The work will also remove all the architectural barriers (obstacles that make access difficult for people with mobility problems).
