The very popular and spectacular river walk in Nigüelas called La Pavilla, is closed because of a rockfall.
The Town Hall assured that it would announce when it is reopened.
For those of you who don’t know it, it is a narrow, elevated walk way that follows the Río Torrente, literally cut out of the rock. The pathway follows the course of an irrigation channel that weaves in and out of the rockface. At one point, you cross metal grates which you can see down through.
It is known as La Pavilla because in times gone past young lovers would go there to carry out pavilladas in intimacy. Una pavillada is really petting amongst teens.
