In a recent Plenary Meeting of the Motril Town Council, two motions were unanimously approved.
The first one concerns the paseo between Motril and the port along the Port Road. This consists of changing paving elements and installing more drinking fountains along its lengths. This, it is hoped, will ensure a “safe, accessible and agreeable space.”
The second point concerns fly tipping along the Camino del Cerro del Toro (that’s the one that connects with the Gorgoracha Tunnel). The motion pointed out that it’s fundamental to clean up and eliminate illegal rubbish dumping in order to “protect our health and environment.”
The adoption of the motion, Town Council considers, represents a firm responsibility with the environment, emphasising a shared responsibility in the management of waste.
Editorial comment: They didn’t actually say how they intended to combat fly tipping up there, but they are determined to sound earnest, at least.
