Nerja Town Hall is still trying to get a new bus station built with the collaboration of the Junta de Andalucía.
The plot is where the planned Centro Médico will be and the bus station will be on top of a parking area for 900 vehicles, near Avenida de Pescia.
A year has passed since the Mayor, José Alberto Armijo (PP) met with a bigwig from the Junta, María Rosa Morales, at the Town Hall to discuss this.
At the moment Nerja does not have a bus station but rather a boarding and alighting arrangement next to Nerja’s main thoroughfare (N-340) at the western end.
The term that both entities are using for a new bus station is an intercambiador de transportes (transport interchange or intermodal transportation hub) which sounds quite impressive but will be just a bog-standard bus station.
The Mayor admitted that this bus-station project could delay the construction of the Medical Centre.
