You might have noticed, if you live in Almuñécar, that they are resurfacing areas of the Plaza de Abderramán, which is right next to the Peñon de Santo.
When we say resurfacing, we’re referring to the work in replacing the paving tiles or slabs, on the peñón side of the road.
The slabs or tiles are the same design as the ones used on the rest of the square, which were replaced last year.
Councillor for Public Works, Francisco Rodríguez, turned up for a photo shoot together with the Mayor, where he explained that this first phase will replace the slabs around the statue of Abderramán and next to Chiringuito Las Tres Rejas.
He said that it would be finished by the end of this week, before Semana Santa is upon us. The Second Phase will commence once Semana Santa has passed.
The paving slabs are white and sky blue, like the rest of the square.
