Do you live inland and found Sunday just a tad chilly? Well, guess how cold it was up on Sierra Nevada!
The meteorological station in the ski resort of Pradollano registered the lowest temperature in the whole of Spain, with a pretty teeth-chattering temperature of minus 14.5ºC at 10.30h Sunday morning.
Well, that was the lowest but the runners up were Cap de Vaquèira (Cataluña), at minus 10.3ºC; Cerler (Aragón), at minus 10.1ºC ; Port Ainé (Cataluña), at minus 9,8ºC, and Astún-La Raca (Aragón) at 9.5ºC.
Actually, second place also went to Sierra Nevada at the Radio-Telescope Station at minus 12.4ºC. All of these locations are on the mountain ranges the Pyrenees and Sierra Nevada
But it was a different story at the Puerto de Mogán in Isla Las Palmas where the temperature was 21,3ºC at 09.30h, which was the highest temperature at that time anywhere in Spain including the mainland and its islands.
Looking out of the window, the Sierra Nevada and surrounding hillside above Nigüelas received another good dose of snowfall so throw another log on that fire because we will soon be back to flies, mosquitos and nowhere to park.
