Madrid is going to transfer 12.4m euros to Salobreña to fund several essential projects, such as finishing off the pedestrianisation of the Paseo Marítimo.
These funds will also cover the new Medical Centre and sorting out access for projected hotels on the other side of the river.
“The investment made by the Central Government of Spain in Salobreña is very important, highlighting the new health center that has a contribution of 7.7 million euros”, said the provincial representative for Madrid, Sr. Montilla. He said that it is not the task of the Central Government to finance public health, as it is down to each Regional Government, boasting that, “had it been the Government’s responsibility, it would not have deteriorated to how it is now.”
He also made reference to 2.5m euros for the Plan de Sostenibilidad Turística en Destino, 850,000 of which will go on the seafront promenade, which should be finished by 2026.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the Ministry of Finance paid just over 2-million euros as an incentive to Asemica Hotels SL for the construction costs (20%) of a 4-star hotel to be located in the El Pargo area.
The Mayor, Sr. Ortega took the opportunity to request the collaboration from the Ministerio de Transportes for the construction of an entrance from the N340 for the El Pargo hotel as well as for the Bodegas Calvente project, which is projected to be situated in front of Hotel Miba, more or less.
Finally, one of the subjects dealt with between the bigwig and the Mayor was citizen safety given the number of burglaries recently.
