Perimeter Walls Removed

Salobreña Town Hall has decided to remove the perimeter walls, made from building blocks, from around the Parque La Fuente II.

SAL Park Perimeter Walls Removed FB24Obviously, this will improve access to the park, which is situated next to where the new Centro Médico will be, making it much more open and visible.

The budget for this demolition work was 40,000 euros, which will include a small storage structure for gardening tools and new urban furniture for the park itself.

Mayor Javier Ortega Prados announced that once this work was complete, Parque La Fuente I will undergo the same reform; thus, “Opening up the parks permanently, 365 days of the year, facilitating the movement of residents between different areas of town.”

“We are trying to create a new, town model, completely open, with its main thoroughfare to the beach with a greater sensation of space,” he concluded.

    Really hope they stop this. The opposite side has a superb play area, and the wall provides extra safety for the children playing there, and I often see groups playing ball game… Pulling down that safety barrier is going to lead to accidents, and vandalism..

    When the Mayor says. Opening up the parks to all. Does that include the odd camper van or two. ? Plus open range for effluent and dog poo. !
    A shame that €40000 which just happens to be lying around . Before the end of the financial year. Cannot be used to sort out the roads leaving town above the cemetery. Still that would be useful . But not seen.
