We rarely take more than a perfunctory glance at the change in our pockets; if it looks like a euro or 2-euro coin, then that's good enough but you can get caught out.
Coinage from countries outside the Euro Zone have similar looking coins but have much less value. A classic example is the 2-Pesos, Argentinian coin, which in the case of the unwary, could end up in your pocket.
If you have been following international news, you will know that Argentina suffers galloping inflation so that the banknotes are hardly worth the value of the paper they are printed on, so imagine the value of Argentinian coins.
Now, the Guardia Civil and Policía Nacional are constantly warning members of the public to be on the look out because crooks are making a killing on this.
This coin, (see image) is worth 0.02 euros or just two centimos, if you prefer. But it is not only Argentinian 2-Peso coins but ones from Kenya, Morocco, Turkey, etc that have varying degrees of similarities with the 2-Euro coin.
