In the early hours of Monday a car showroom in Mijas went up in flames destroying nine vehicles.

According to 112, the fire was reported at 00.40h in this establishment on Calle Selene, on the Camino de Coín junction.

The Fuengirola and Mijas fire services were called out to deal with it, accompanied by the Policía Local Guardia Civil.

All of the cars were parked outside in the courtyard, next to a paper-recycling bin, which was also destroyed.
