Vandals have been active again in the old town of Salobreña.
In the early morning of the 4th, three rubbish hoppers were set alight. The Motril fire service was rapidly called in after the fire was reported by residents.
The fire was soon put out so, fortunately, the flames did not affect nearby, parked vehicles. A police investigation was immediately opened to find out who the culprit(s) was/were.
The recycling bins were on Calle Gloria and were inside a wooden shelter, which took the brunt of the fire and were consequently totally destroyed.
The bins have since been replaced and the wooden structure will also be replaced soon.
