Delivery Driver Mugged

The Guardia Civil have arrested a man in his early 40s, accused of carrying out a mugging in Almuñécar against a delivery driver.

ALM San Cristobal 2019The incident took place along the Paseo de San Cristóbal around the end of October when the 41-year-old suspect allegedly held up the delivery driver with a ham knife.

The suspect searched the cab for cash and not finding any, made off with the driver’s mobile phone.

The arrested man, a Moroccan national, not only has a criminal record but had an arrest warrant out on him at the time, issued by an Almuñécar law court.

Officers belonging to the Guardia Civil post in Almuñécar examined security footage from nearby CCTV cameras and had no difficulty identifying the suspect.

The Guardia Civil took several weeks to track him down, however, so that they could make the arrest.
