Torrenueva Costa Town Hall wants to extend is emblematic pathway as far as Playa de la Joya.

This new town (now independent from Motril) already has an impressive hanging bridge between two cliffs with a glass-floor segment  – not recommended for the timid – but now the Mayor is calling on the Provincial Council to give him a grant in order to develop the project.

The addition to the popular route would be an elevated, glazed, lookout point (mirador), sitting on top of a cliff, 135 metres above the sea.

Mayor Plácido Lara, explained that the mirador would have a glass-floor extension so that visitors can look straight down to the surf.

The hanging bridge has already received a prize from the Federación Española de Deporte de Montaña, awarded last year.
