Herradureño, Luis Barbero (the surname is a give away about where he comes from) competed in the Dakar 2023 with a Basque team mate, have got themselves a new vehicle.

The driver/copilot team formed by the Basque driver, Asier Duarte, and the Herradureño copilot, Luis Barbero, have begun the countdown, preparing for their second participation in arguably the toughest rally race in the world, the Dakar 2024.

They do so after having been signed up by the Belgian team, VR Racing, who will provide a nifty rally car; a 250CV Toyota HDJ 80, explained Luis Barbero.

When we say, preparing, we mean getting stuck into other rallies in the meantime.

Luis Barbero explained, “We began our training by participating in the First RallyClassics Africa, the new regularity rally-raid that takes place, from September the15th to the 21st, in the area of Merzouga and Erfoud in Morocco.”
