A woman was arrested in Mijas for running a kitchen-top beautician set-up where she applied Botox and other anti-ageing medication.
The accused, who kept her supplies in her fridge, next to her food, faces charges of Professional Intrusion, Causing Lesions and other transgressions against Public health.
The police launched Operación Botu, after receiving complaints from women whose treatment at the hands of the accused had led to medical intervention and even hospital treatment.
The police located the accused in Cala de Mijas. The police confirmed that the woman had no medical qualifications and was not a registered medical practioner, both of which are legal necessities to practice this kind of medical treatment.
When the police searched her abode they found 3,400 Botox units, a kilo of hyaluronic acid and various vials for application through injection, as well as syringes and hypodermic needles, etc. Furthermore, they found documents that indicated that she had had at least a hundred patients whom she had treated.
