It only goes to show the magnitude of traffic hurtling along the A-7 and down the A-44, that there appear to be accidents every other day.

This time it was where the autovía passes through the municipality of Almuñécar. Two people needed to be rushed to Hospital Santa Ana as a consequence of a collision between a family car and a van.

This occurred a little before 12.10h yesterday, more or less at the entrance of the Calaceite Tunnel near kilometre point 913 on the eastbound lanes.

The emergency coordination centre, 112 despatched the Guardia Civil traffic police, the Almuñécar fire service and an ambulance.

The two victims, a man and a woman, were suffering from shock so they were taken to the Motril hospital for check ups and treatment for their condition.
