Salobreña Castle Reopens

At last, Salobreña Castle will reopen – Actually, it reopened yesterday – and will open every day for the rest of the year.

SAL Castle Lit Up Illuminated at NightFurthermore there will be a member of staff from the Tourist Board who will explain the history behind the castle to all those that ask for this information.

Not only will it be open to the public Monday to Sunday, but it will also be open in the mornings and afternoons, too.

Recently, for visitors to find the castle open has been hit and miss, more often than not, a miss.

So, the change in circumstances is because the Town Hall has managed to obtain another employee for the Salobreña Tourism Board. The Mayor, Javier Ortega, explained that the castle being available has been one of the things that has most worried his cabinet since he took the Mayoralty.

And this is not an arrangement for the duration of the summer only, but will remain operative throughout the winter too. The Councillor for Tourism, María del Carmen Rodríguez Callejón, hopes to organise games and other activities up there to make it more attractive for visitors with kiddies.

The opening times for the castle are as follows: 10.00h to 13.30h and 17.30h to 19.30h. In the winter the opening times will vary, for obvious reasons.
