A woman was run over by a lorry in the Barrio de Santa Adela area of town; i.e, near the port.
The accident occurred around 09.45h as the large lorry was manoeuvring along Calle Jabeque, on the corner of Calle Delfín.
An ambulance was sent to the scene along with the Guardia Civil and the Policía local. She was taken to the A&E at Hospital Santa Ana. Fortunately, according to the lorry driver, the woman only had an injured arm.
An early incident in the afternoon of the 21st saw the Motril fire service putting out a fire involving three parked car in the Plaza de La Autonomía in Motril.
Despite the fire crew working rapidly and efficiently, the cars were all badly damaged by the fire.

It is very strange in this country; almost a pedestrian death wish, walking out across the road either at a crossing or not. Check to see if it’s safe? No way Jose! Stay texting or chatting on your mobile.
Reversing lorry or car; wait for it to complete its reversing? Again, no way. Just walk behind it and give the driver a start.
Always the drivers fault and vever the imbecile that thinks they are invincible.
Mind you, the day they nick drivers for using crossings as an empty parking space, will be a good day, indeed.
