A young Argentinean man is under investigation after a Salobreña woman reported that she had been swindled on an online 2nd-hand-car platform.
The online, social media platform is Marketplace. The victim saw a car that she wanted to buy and agreed to pay 1,000 euros up front as a down payment.
She made the tranfer, but she never heard anything more about the car or her money, so she reported it to the Guardia Civil post in town.
The Guardia Civil post in Motril took the investigation up and verified that the money had arrived in the account of the 23-year-old man, who turned out to be living in Maracena (Sevilla), so they passed it on to their HQ in Granada.
The man has no criminal record but could face charges of online fraud.
