The Almuñécar & La Herradura branch of the PSOE said that they are "profoundly worried" about the state of the parking under the Plaza de La Independencia.
According to the party Spokesperson, Rocío Palacios, after having look around the installations they consider, “it is showing sign of evident deterioration which could put in danger those who are on top of it [on the square above].”
“It is surprising that they have spent months renovating the square, causing economic damage to local businesses because of the delays, yet they haven’t carried out the necessary measures for the [underground] parking to be in an adequate state,” read the communiqué.
The press release concluded with, “we don’t want to be alarmists but after visiting the installations, we cannot remain silent, so through a sense of responsibility, we have registered a written letter documenting our concerns, calling for an urgent study of the carpark’s faults.”
