The forest-fire Infoca service had to deploy aircraft to tackle a forest fire that broke out yesterday in an area of the Arenas del Rey municipality.
The fire was reported around 13.35h in the area known as Río Añales, in the said municipality – visitors to the Pantano de Bermejales will know the area.
As well as land-based, single-engine, water bombers operating out of the nearby landing strip belonging to the Resinera base, they also deployed a heavy-lift helicopter, a fire engine and fire-fighter ground personnel.
This was the second fire within the province this week as Monday saw fire in Cañar in the Alpujarra, which was finally put out at 19.30h that same day.
