The Mayor of Almuñécar, Juan José Ruiz Joya, greeted the Junta's, Minister of Public Works, Antonio Ayllón, to discuss Torrecuevas streetlighting.

They had met at the Town Hall to deal with several subjects but providing street lighting from just after San Sebastian to Torrecuevas along the A-4050 (La Cabra) was the main one.

There is a section missing as far as street lighting goes between Las Peñuelas and Venta Luciano; where the two looping bends are after the Venta Luciano straight stretch, heading towards Almuñécar.

For the old timers in Almuñécar, Bar Las Peñuelas was popularly known amongst foreigners as The Boobs Bar, given the matronly figure of the bar-owner’s wife.

The Junta had already carried  out  work on five kilometres of the A-4050, spending 523,313 euros, repairing the road surface, replacing road signs and clearing out roadside drainage..

The Mayor and the Minister agreed to meet again either in Almuñécar or in Granada to follow up on the points discussed.
