The Almuñécar Municipal Band will be giving a concert tomorrow evening in honour of Santa Cecilia, who is the Patron Saint of Music.

ALM Municipal Band 400x250The concert, which will cover hits from the 70s and 80s by both Spanish and international groups, will take place at 19.00h in the Casa de La Cultura and will be conducted by David Pino Campos, explained the Manager of the Banda Municipal de Música de Almuñécar, Francisco Contreras.

There will also be solo performances by Paloma Herrero Ocaña, accompanying herself on a keyboard.

Entrance is free until all the available seats are taken, at which point they will close the door to more spectators entering, should that be the case.

Editorial comment: it’s a good opportunity to hear the Spanish hits from bygone decades that probably didn’t make it over to your country. I think one of the few that did was, Black is Black by Los Bravos, which hit Nº4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and Nº2 in the British charts when it was released in 1966.
