La Herradura will hold its international, classical-guitar competition next week in the Centro Cívico Auditorium, starting on Tuesday.
A total of 17 guitarists from 12 different nations will compete in the XXXVII Certamen Internacional de Guitarra Clásica Andrés Segovia from the 22nd, ending on Saturday the 26th.
The First Councillor for La Herradura, Daniel Barbero, was very positive about the amount of interest shown, demonstrable from the number of competitors from all across the globe. In fact, he considers that this competition is the most important one in the world within its genre.
The Town hall receives a helping hand from the Central Government’s Ministry of Culture, as well as from the provincial delegate for the Junta de Andalucía and the Provincial Council.
As for the competitors this year, two are from Chile, two from China and single entrants from Greece, Serbia, Argentina, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Mexico, Montenegro and Portugal. There are also four guitarists from Spain.
