A mixture of clumsy people and firearms is a recipe for disaster, and shooting yourself in the penis is definitely a disaster.

The Guardia Civil in the town of Novelda (Alicante) arrested two men for the illegal possession of firearms after one of them, a 22-year-old man, shot himself in the penis because he had shoved the pistol down the front of his trousers, as you see in films.

This is where a safety catch comes in handy to prevent future-offspring elimination.

This happened in the early hours of the 23rd of October. As reports of a shot being fired came into the police station, officers began to investigate the origin of the discharge.

After administering an unscheduled circumcision on himself, he got into a car with his companion and abandoned the scene and shot off (no pun intended) to the Hospital de Elda, where he was treated for a gunshot wound.

As hospitals have to immediately inform the police if somebody comes in with a gunshot wound, both men were immediately arrested and the firearm confiscated.
