The November crossword in the paper edition of the Seaside Gazette was the easiest one we have ever printed - It was already filled in.
How, when proof reading the 40 pages we didn’t notice this ‘generous’ version, is a mystery, but it got through. Each month, we do publish the answers, upside down, in small format, just above the main one to be filled in.
There are always pitfalls; supplying the wrong answers; forgetting to change the previous month’s one or even getting it the wrong way up.
Well, we can only say, that it’s a good job that we don’t pay out prize money for the correct submissions!
There has never been a month, since I started as the Editor in 2003, or when Dave joined in 2008, where we don’t look through a mint copy of the new Seaside Gazette, having opened one of the boxes containing them, that you don’t think, “There’s bound to be something wrong, such as typos, or something we’ve forgotten to include…” It is indeed a rare moment when you get to the back cover and say, “my God, it’s blooper free!
