A Good Option

It is a good idea to get your heating gas now as these present prices won't hold whilst everything else goes up around them.

The combination of inflation and the knock-on effects of the War in Ukraine in the energy market, there is an option to fall back on and that is the TUR (goverment regulated gas prices)

According to the Organización de Consumidores y Usuarios (OCU), it is the best option although they warn that this could change.

The TUR is a pricing structure that is fixed by the Central Government and is revised every three months. This last revision was October, so the new price is out. This Government also controls the price of domestic, butane bottles on a 3-monthly basis, too.

Even so for a household that consumes 9,000 kwh a year it works out at 723 euros per year. Compare that with the best price outside this system and you’re looking at 1,516 per year.

Furthermore, as it is a pricing system that changes every three months, you are not tied to it and can change back to your normal system when you want. Check out this Consumers’ Advice webpage: https://bit.ly/3TS3CDK
