There was another earth tremor in the province, this time with its epicentre in Salar in the Poniente de Granada.
The seismic disturbance took place at 11.14h on Wednesday, one kilometre down, giving a reading of 3.9 on the Richter scale.
Although the affects were felt in municipalities around Salar, and even over the provincial border in Málaga, there was no damage caused to buildings or infrastructure and nobody was hurt.
According to information offered by the Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN), Salar was also affected by four smaller earth tremors that same day. There were others in the area with epicentres under Moraleda de Zafayona, Loja and Huétor Tájar.
The fact is that there are dozens of minor earth tremors every day, owing to the mountainous nature of the province (we’re on a fault line), with the ones smaller than 1.0 on the Richter Scale not even being published by the IGN.
