Almuñécar Mayor, Juan José Ruiz Joya, formally introduced the four new members of the Policía Local staff, who had passed their induction exams in June.
Mayor Ruiz Joya and the Chief of Policía Local, Juan José Medina, congratulated the new officers on their joining municipal police, reminding them that his administration takes keeping to the official ratio of police personnel to population, which is around 27,000, very seriously.
Two of them, Rubén Lupión Díaz and Andrea Bosch Sánchez, are fully trained and the other two, María José Garnica Alarcón y Antonio Hernández Vílchez, are doing on-the-job training and will also continue classes at the Escuela de Seguridad Pública de Andalucía.
A total of 94 people put their name forward for selection and 80 turned up for the first test, 53 of whom made it through. However, for the physical exams only 43 turned up.
The Police Chief explained that many had put their names down for selection processes in other municipalities, as well, which is why many didn’t turn up.
