A biker lost his life Saturday evening on the A-346, which links the capital of La Alpujarra Granadina to Vélez de Benaudalla.

The accident occurred around 23.00h at kilometre point six and was reported to the 112 emergency number by a motorist who had witnessed the incident.

Th Guardia Civil, an ambulance and the road-maintenance company were despatched but nothing could be done for the 38-year-old rider.

It is not known at present what caused the rider to lose control of his motorbike and fall off, resulting in his death.
