Starting on Monday the 20th in Almuñécar, the summer, rubbish-collection times will come into force. If you put it out at the wrong time, you could risk a fine.
In the centre of the town, rubbish can only be put out between 16.00h and 18.00h, which will be collected before 21.00h. This will remain in force until the 19th of September.
In the meantime, the Department for the Environment and the rubbish-collection company, FCC are carrying out a campaign, informing apartment-block communities and businesses about this change.
This applies to the following areas: Avenida Rey Juan Carlos I, Avenida de Andalucía, Avenida Europa, Paseo Puerta del Mar, Paseo Prieto Moreno-Caletilla and the central pedestrian streets where there are shops.
Wheelie bins belonging to apartment blocks must be off the streets by 21.30h.
This is the fifth year that these early, rubbish-collection times have been in force, which are designed to have the rubbish out of the way before people begin their evening strolls.
