The Environmental Department belonging to Salobreña Town Hall has begun a campaign to eliminate rats and insects around town.
Actually, most of the work is being carried out by a private company hired for the task: Sanisur. The Environmental Deparment are simply organising it,
The favourite place for the unwanted is all the underground infrastructure; sewage & rain drainage systems.
They have four specialised vehicles for the task and around a dozen operators.
Apparently, this is just the right time to sort out cockroaches and rats – they might not agree – but the campaign is going ahead anyway.
Councillor Angela Rodríguez explained that they would go over it again around mid July in the more critical areas. However, no matter what time of the year they receive complaints from residents that the number of vermin is rising, they will carry out an unscheduled campaign.
For this reason, should you like to report a surge in “guests,” then you should report it either on 958 181 516 or via email at info@sanisur.com

Luckily the people that eat fast food. Generally bin their residue and most Spanish people do use bins. Unless you use the main Campo roads . Then you’ll see morons have dumped plastic bags and bottles. Oddly the actual large bins are it seems just a dumping area. The Salobrena town tip it seems is not open for too long. Below the Monte by the main road there are about five bins. Always full and surrounded by stuff that should have gone to the tip. A shame that we don’t have gardenwaste bins. Might stop some of the burnings. Still much better then dump it anywhere UK.
