There was a traffic incident on Calle Ancha in Motril yesterday when a car ran into a pedestrian after it went up onto the pavement.
The accident occurred around 11.30h Sunday morning with the vehicle ending up with a signpost wedged underneath.
Both the driver of what looks to be a Alfa Romeo and the pedestrian were treated at the scene of the accident before being taken to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril.
It is speculated that the driver might have suffered a heart attack. However, no details have been published to date concerning the driver or the pedestrian.
Update: 9th May: The elderly pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and it is confirmed that the driver had suffered a heart attack. He is in intensive care in Granada.
