A driver was knocked over and killed on the A-44 Autovia after he got out of his car as he was feeling sick.

The accident occurred a little before 09.30h Sunday morning. The emergency number, 112 received several calls from eyewitnesses in other cars.

The body of the 56-year-old man was lying on the hardshoulder near kilometre point 151 on the Granada-bound lanes within the municipality of Villamena.

An ambulance was immediately despatch and the paramedics attempted to save his life at the scene but to no avail.
