One of the bodies found in Los Yesos on Thursday belonged to Carmen Jiménez, ex Partido-Popular councillor at the Castell-Gualchos Town Hall.

Carmen served as a councillor between 2011 and 2019. Once her party lost the Mayoralty of Gualchos-Castell de Ferro 47-year-old Carmen left the party and politics in general.

The other body belonged to her partner, 61-year-old José, a resident of La Mamola. José was separated and has two children and at least four grandchildren. Carmen was not married nor had any children.

The Guardia Civil are treating the deaths as murder and are investigating a possible link to drug traffickers, which does not mean that the couple are suspected of having dealing with drug running but that they may have run foul of them.
