The French police nabbed a couple of Granadinos in a rented RV with naughty weed on board.
The pair had hired the camper van on the 7th of April in Granada and were due to hand it back on the 10th, but they hadn’t counted on the French police collaring them on the Franco-Italian border.
The company that hired out the camper van started to get worried on the last day of the rental period and sent whatsapp messages reminding them that it was to be returned that day, but the rental company saw that these messages had gone unread.
The day came and went so the owner reported the situation to the police on Monday the 11th.
“The Guardia Civil contacted us to say that the vehicle had been detained on the French border with Italy – they [the police] were very fast in tracking it down,” commented the owner.
The vehicle owners made their way to France to pick up the vehicle, which was in a good condition they were happy to find.
Fun fact: the French police have arrested five Granadinos in less than a month, all for drug running in vans, lorries and camper vans; three of them were from western Granada and the other two from the metropolitan area.
