The new Avant train-connection between the cities of Granada and Málaga has moved 4,000 passengers since it started 15 days ago.
As the Spanish national rail operator, Renfe, puts it, that’s equivalent to 286 passengers a day or 71 on each of the four trains running each day.
Renfe also points out in their communiqué that train use has eliminated 2,872 car trips and 57.4 tonnes of Co2 into the atmosphere.
The service began on the 44th of April with trains leaving Granada at 07.40h and 18.50h for Málaga and the return service operating out of Málaga at 09.25h and 20.25h.
Despite a stop in Loja, the journey only takes 70 minutes. However, for those living on the coast it is of little use, of course. A different story it would be if trains reached Motril from Málaga or Granada.

44th of April. ??
71 passengers per train.!!
They would have that many per carriage from Euston to Hemel Hempstead.
Yep a shame they thought the coastal route not profitable.!!
