The two robbers followed the victims gaze and the crooks realised that the games was up – it was very obvious that the gun was a starter pistol loaded with blanks.
The owner turned on them and before he could get his hands on them they had fled the shop. Although the Guardia Civil based in nearby Santa Fe rushed to the scene of the incident, which took place at 08.30h yesterday morning, the robbers got clean away, unencumbered by booty and one blank bullet less.
Belicena, by the way, is about half way between Granada and the airport in a straight line.
