A paraglider flyer crash landed over the weekend on a beach within the municipality of Torrox.
It was around 17.00h that witnesses to the accident phoned the emergency call centre number 112 to report that a paraglider had come down on Playa Calaceite, crashing down onto rocks there.
They immediately despatched an ambulance and alerted the fire service, as well as the Guardia Civil and Policía Local.
The victim was take by ambulance to the heliport in Nerja and from their in a SAS medicalised helicopter to the area hospital in Vélez Málaga.

Sadly every sport can have it’s injuries. But paragliding ,hangliding and parachuting can be very dangerous. Let’s hope they recover well.
A separate question. Martin. Are their any rugby clubs within say 50km of almunecar/Salobrena area. Not to play. Hurt my neck in my forties. But to watch and maybe a small beer. ??
