Yesterday afternoon we reported on the political backlash over a knife incident in the Salobreña fairground, so here are the details of this incident.
The knifing incident occurred during the night of Saturday/Sunday in the fairground that had been set up in the municipal, sports facilities.
A fight broke out between two groups of youngsters which ended with a 16-year-old lad suffering knife injuries. He was rushed to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril where a stab wound in his side was treated.
The police unions, SIPLG/UPSLB, consider that inadequate policing manpower contributed to this incident and has been at loggerheads with the Mayor over this situation for several years.
The union claims that the Councillor for Fiestas has repeatedly held multitudinous social events with inadequate policing and that this stabbing incident has been the straw that broke the camel’s back; thus they have called for his immediate resignation.
