Motril’s Canine Parks

Motril's Parque Canino (dog park) covers almost 1,000 sq/m, lying within the Parque de Las Provincias and appears to be quite popular with the Motrileños.

MOT Canine Park, parque de las provinciasThe Mayor, Luisa María García Chamorro, explained that Motril has officially 5,000 dogs – there are obviously many unregistered dogs, as well, but just by taking that number, it is obvious that there is a need for public space where dog owners can exercise their pets.

The dog park is still missing a couple of features, such as a water fountain (trough) and lighting, but the Town Hall is working on these deficiencies.

The Mayor says that they have plans to create another, similar, space in the Parque de los Pueblos de América. Furthermore, as the city expands, then more parks will be set up, with their canine area, too.
