ALM Cajasur Avenida Juan CarlosIt was agreed that the staff from the Cajasur on Avenida Rey Juan Carlos I would be transferred to the Motril branch rather than make them redundant.

Last year the Cajasur branch in Salobreña was also closed down and the staff transferred to Motril.

In fact, to make room for all this extra staff the Motril branch has had to be relocated to a bigger premises.

Going back to Almuñécar, the town is left with branches of CaixaBank (three branches), BBVA, Santander, Caja Rural Granada, Unicaja Banco, Cajamar and Banco Sabadell–Solbank.

As for La Herradura, owing to these bank mergers, there are only two banks left there: Caja Rural and CaixaBank.
