Two animal-shelter assocations are asking for 15 dogs on two different plots of land to be taken from the care of a woman in Moraleda de Zafayona.

According to Ladridos Vagabundos and the Asociación Amigos de los Animales Granada, the animals have no veterinary attention and that they live amongst rubbish and rubble.

“They live like hyenas. There are the bodies of puppies that have died from parvovirus that are then devoured by the dogs out of hunger.”

“It’s hell,” concluded Margarita and Inés, speaking in the name of the respective associations.

The animal associations want the bitches to be sterilised but the owner refuses, “she won’t even let us touch them.”

The spokeswomen also consider that the dogs present a danger for passersby on foot or on bicycles. In the meantime, Seprona (Guardia Civil) are investigating.
