A driver was found to be over the limit when pulled over by a Policía Nacional patrol car; there were two children in the car.
The incident took place on Monday around 18.45h on the A-44 where it bypasses Granada.
Normally the Policía Nacional do not patrol autovías as that is the task of the Guardia Civil but in this case the patrol car had used the bypass to get across the city faster than trying to drive through it.
It was whilst they were doing this that they came across a car driving at only 10 kilometres an hour with a huge build up of traffic behind it so they decided to pull it over, thinking that the driver could be having heart problems.
They immediately realised that he was drunk and breathalysed the 60-year-old driver, which gave him a reading well over the limit. His passengers were his wife and two children.
The officers immediately took him to the Guardia Civil police station so that they could process him whilst another patrol car took the wife and children home.
