Mercadona decided to open its biggest supermarket in the whole province in Motril, covering 1,790 sq/m of shop floor and with parking for 168 vehicles.

The old branch that was on Avenida Rambla de los Álamos will be closed down and transferred to the new shop near the Avenida de la Esperanza, which is the new, dual-lane entrance to Motril from the east.

The Mayor, Luisa García Chamorro, accompanied by the Councillor for Urban Development, Antonio Escámez visited the new intallations, which have wider aisles, a new model of shopping trolley and a lot more natural lighting.

The Mayor considers that Mercadona’s decision to open its largest branch in the province reinforces Motril’s standing as capital of the Costa Tropical.
