Doctor Wolfgang Piller

After more than 19 years working in La Clínica in Almuñécar, tending to the sick and injured of the town, Dr. Wolfgang is leaving the practice at the end of December.

PP Wolfgang PilarHe is very highly thought of around the town and especially here at the Seaside Gazette where he penned a multitude of interesting, informative and sometimes outright funny articles for our Medical Section.

Also, we can’t let him go without mentioning his superb charity work in some of the most dangerous areas of the World whilst volunteering for Médicos Sin Fronteras. He truly is a credit to his profession.

He won’t be leaving completely and will return occasionally to act as a locum when Axel is away and will also continue with in some other background roles.

On a personal note, Di and I have much to be grateful for where Wolfgang is concerned as he spotted Di’s serious condition just in time, therefore, without doubt saving her life.

He also talked me into an acting part in the play he directed and I still cherish the photo of Wolfgang with us all on the stage at the Casa de la Cultura taking a bow in front of a packed house.

So, Wolfgang, doctor, friend and all-round nice chap, we wish you all the very best and hope we continue to see you around on a regular basis. Put your feet up, rest that back and enjoy the peace and quiet.
