Man Drowns in Almuñécar

A 55-year-old man died on San Cristóbal Beach in Almuñécar yesterday afternoon, according to the emergency 112 service.

The caller said that the man appeared to have drowned and that they were applying CPR procedure to revive him.

The emergency call centre alerted the Policía Local, the Guardia Civil and the ambulance service. Medical sources confirmed that the victim did not respond to attempts to revive him and he was declared dead there on the beach.

The Guardia Civil have initiated the judicial protocol to ascertain the circumstances and cause of death.
